Brahmarshi Daivarata

The Vedas are the earliest and religious monuments of the world. According to Indian tradition, they were revealed to our ancient seers when they were in transcendental state. A similar event of revelation of Mantras took place after a gap of thousand years, in the first quarter of this very century and in our own country. Some new Mantras were revealed to Daivarata Sharma of Gokarna (Dist: Uttarakannada, Karnataka State), when he was practicing penance at Renukamba Temple (5km away from Tiruvannamalai) in the year of august 1917 A.D. Kavyakantha Vasista Ganapati Muni took down these Mantras and wrote a commentary on them. He named it as CHHANDO DARSHANA.

It must be noted that Daivarata Sharma was not only a seer of mantras but was also an interpreter of Vedic Mantras. He was having knowledge of folklore medicines for both animals and human beings. Daivarata happens to be the one and only modern seer.
